About

I enjoy Horse Racing, I enjoy the challenge of studying form, watching the races, and trying to pick winners, the fun of attending the races and the excitement of the racing in general.

I am passionate about racing and want to blog from the perspective of a fan, talking about big races, events, things to look forward to, and how I see horses and races on the calender. This blog will focus mainly in New Zealand racing which is what I spend most of my time following.

I started this blog because I really enjoy racing, but I am not an insider by any means. I just enjoy the things I mentioned above and often have thoughts concerning these things, I enjoy thinking about races and putting my thoughts into words. The problem is that when I get excited and begin to discuss racing or horses to my friends it is clear they have little interest. At times I can convince friends to join me on course but generally only when there is some type of party event, the people around me don't really seem to care about racing. Yes, there are other outlets for me to share my feelings, there are forums; although I like reading these and picking up knowledge, learning and hearing insider stories, these forums do tend to be dominated by Racing insiders and it is intimidating to post in an environment where your credentials matter as much as your opinion. Since starting this blog I have done more research and spent a lot of time on twitter to find other interested people, there are some websites focused on New Zealand racing, and some people to follow on Twitter (although this space is dominated by Australian racing people in this part of the World). So there are other options to read and places to share information about New Zealand racing, but I still enjoy having a place to share my thoughts and opinions.

Feel free to enjoy, dislike, comment or mock this at will. This is created both to verbalise internal dialogue and for anyone who is interested to read and discuss.
